Gladiatrix
In the GLADIATRIX episode of the EPIC WARRIOR WOMEN 5x52min series on history's most iconic fighters, we tell the story of the Celt warrior Ardala. Captured by the Romans she is sold to a Mediterranean gladiator school in 2nd Century AD. In the cruel and brutal school she transforms from rebellious recruit to ruthless gladiatrix wanting to avenge the death of her friend and mentor.
Based on the marble relief of Halicarnassus displayed in The British Museum, London. Featuring historic re-enactment, battle CGI, Ephesus World Heritage site and leading historians Bettany Hughes and Marcus Junkelmann. Filmed in Malta, Turkey, UK and Austria.
