In the AMAZONS episode of the EPIC WARRIOR WOMEN 5x52min series on history's most iconic women fighters, we fellows the life of Scythian orphan girl Alkaya who grows up to become a skilled and fearless horse warrior.
After her step-father is killed by rival Central Asian nomad tribes, Alkaya as new Chief leads her tribe into a defining battle against the Persians in 6th Century BC. Featuring historic re-enactment, battle CGI and leading historians Adrienne Mayor and Bettany Hughes as well as eagle huntress Aisholpan. Filmed in Kazakhstan, Mongolia, UK and USA.
